Fit Moms For Life Review

My husband and I both started a "get healthy kick" over a year ago. We have been pretty good about eating better, trying to exercise a couple times a week, and choosing healthier options in our diet. Still after meeting my goal weight, what I weighed at 21 before my kiddos came along, I still do not have the same toned shape from my younger years. Not to mention, my metabolism isn't what it was back then at all!

I was given the opportunity to review this really awesome book by Dustin Maher , Fit Moms For Life, which would be a great book for any woman or man in my opinion! His program is all about being the best you can be by following the five pillars of health- mindset, nutrition, strength training, burst training, and environment. Dustin is a personal trainer with a Bachelor's degree in Kinesiology {Exercise Science}. He is also the man behind, Fit Fun Boot Camp's. Thinking I have finally found what my workouts and my diet plan have been missing this whole time..... Dustin Maher!!!


Dustin Maher's plans differs from those that I have tried, and exercises I practice because he recommends strength training for women! Now my hubby has been lifting for over a year, and has said many times that I should lift with him. Of course, going off what I had always heard, said no way!!! I didn't want to be bulky....was looking for toned muscles. 

Now after reading this book, and hearing what Dustin Maher has to say about strength training.... I had to eat my words and tell my husband that I would love to strength train with him. According to Fit Moms for Life, strength training along with burst training will give me that toned look and great metabolism I've been trying to achieve for the last year and a half!!! =)

In Fit Moms For Life, David Maher gives lots of solid advice on nutrition as well as offering a physical training plan. I love his Nutrition Philosophy: The Low Crap Diet! He offers 16 "Rules to Eat By", my favorite of these was Rule #3"if Grandma didn't eat it, don't eat it!" This is the Rule I am struggling with, and trying my hardest to stand by. We eat so many processed products that it's just second nature to grab them at the grocery store. Focusing on all natural ingredients, and trying my best to stay organic in meat and produce is really making a difference in my energy level!!!

The more I read in Fit Moms For Life, the more I want to continue to follow this program! I have read and reread chapters....yes, it's that good! I want to have the "Endless Energy to Outplay My Kids", and Dustin Maher's program is getting me there. I have also noticed that while being more active, my children are also staying moving too= Less time watching TV and more time playing outside. 

If you are in a place where you need more energy, and want to feel and look the best that you can.... believe Fit Moms for Life would be great place to start!!! This book has inspired me to workout in ways that are helping me feel stronger every day, getting my kids involved and active, and trying to find organic options at the grocery store. Most importantly Fit Moms for Life has convinced me to put my health first!!!

  1. My husband and I have recently decided to be healthier. We got rid of all the junk foods and have been eating a lot healthier, and exercising daily! This seems to be a great book, definitely something I should read!
