Skoy Cloth Review

      Recently I was given the opportunity to review a product from 2 Stay at Home Moms, who looking to find a less wasteful way to clean, came up with the Skoy Cloth. Now what is a Skoy Cloth you ask? It is a  reusable cloth that can replace your wash cloths, sponges, and most importantly for a budget... paper towels.

The amount of paper towels my household goes through each year is pure craziness, and I was intrigued by the idea behind this product. An earth friendly cloth made from cellulose of wood and natural cotton that is 100% biodegradable, but also sturdy enough to last through multiple uses. Their website claims One Skoy Cloth is = to 15 rolls of paper towels. Since I'm always looking for reusable products that are earth friendly... I just had to put them through my household test!!!

First of all, they come in such cute colors with adorable designs. I was sent this flower print design, but there are others including Inspirational Text, Holiday, and Paw Prints. You just love them as soon as you open the package! Not sure about you, but I was sick to death of looking at my regular brand's cheesy designs!

These cloths aren't just for decoration though.....they can absorb pretty much any spill. Skoy Cloths are able to absorb 15 times their weight!!! You can also use them to to wipe down your counter tops, cabinets, and more. Yes, you may use them with cleaners too! {Although using with concentrated bleach is not recommended}

Now keeping them clean for the next use is very simple... you can toss a damp Skoy Cloth into the microwave for 1-2 minutes daily to keep it germ free. {Will say after doing this they are extremely HOT, so be prepared.} If you still feel the cloth needs to be more thoroughly cleaned after a messy clean up, you can toss them into the washer and dry on low heat. Another way to clean is to put them in the dishwasher... I personally didn't try this method, but Skoy's website has more details here.  They do shrink a little bit, but are still able to be used and absorb wonderfully.

Did one Skoy Cloth really save me 15 rolls of paper towels like they claim? Well, after using them for a few weeks not sure exactly how many rolls of paper towels the Skoy Cloths have saved me from purchasing {I lost count}, but it has to be at least 8 or 9 by now! Not to mention, all my cloths are still in great condition with lots of uses left! I believe this has saved us money, and since we aren't throwing away paper towels, thinking they have been great for reducing our waste too! =)

**To purchase Skoy Cloths you can order directly from their Website or check them out at The Container Store locations and select Cost Plus World Market.

  5. My family could really use some of those, I'm embarrassed to say how many paper towels we go through in a week. I would love to reduce our waste.

  7. They look like they would be tougher than paper towels, and I love how many ways there are to sterilize them.

  11. I love Skoy Cloths and use them all the time. I have one in my sink right now for dishes. They are like the most absorbent paper towel that never quits :)

  12. These seem awesome! I hated spending money on paper towel, so I sewed my own "Owl Towels" as I called them, since they have owl print cotton flannel on one-side and terry cloth on the other. These are larger than my towels however, and are probably more absorbent.
