I Like Book Review

Pick up your room! Don't slam your bedroom door! Please stop whining! 

 As parents we know our children have certain behaviors that we must correct, and well, I'll just say it, nagging is part of this Mommy's job. As a homeschooling Mommy I also have to say things like.... you need to check your spelling, Focus on your work not...., and things like,  "Stop daydreaming and do your math!!" 

I have heard the saying that for every negative, you should say so many positives, but sometimes especially when the kids are acting just wild and out of control....it's hard to remember that. That's why I have fell in love with I Like Book created by Meredith & Lance J. Looney! This books helps you say and discuss something you "LIKE" about your child!

The book is simple to follow, and so effective in helping you connect with your kids. Here's how it works....you fill in something you "LIKE"  about your child, and share it with them. You can do this everyday {for example, at bedtime} or even just once a week. This is such an awesome way to bond, and who doesn't like hearing what their parents love or LIKE about them?

 

In the I Like Book there are also sections called Just For Kids.... here they can fill in things they like. It also has places for your kids to draw, trace their hand, fill in their bio, and read random quotes. This is one of the neatest books I have ever came across to help you bond with your children. It's not a how to book, it's simply a book with an easy to follow process that helps you connect with your kiddos through compliments.

We are enjoying this new bedtime ritual with our daughter, and I feel like she has really opened up to us. Have to say, I love the I Like Book so much we are going to purchase one for our son to have this type of connection with him too. The front cover says "CAUTION: this book creates fantastic relationships" , and you know what?...... They are right! =)
