Three New Books From Little Gestalten This Spring #Review

One of my favorite parts of blogging is being introduced to new-to-me publishers who have a wide variety of books that will be great reads and keep learning fun for my kids. Recently I had the pleasure to be introduced to a publisher who has some fun new releases, and I am so excited to share them with you.

Little Gestalten has three new releases that were originally published in Germany, and after reading these children's books, I believe that they are wonderful! Let's GardenI Love You Always, and My Body will definitely keep learning fun!

Let's Garden, written by Clara Lidström and Annakarin Nyberg and translated thanks to Victoria Lindbäck, is a hardback book for children ages 6 and up. It is filled with fun DIY ideas from how to grow your own potatoes in a bucket to even a guide to making your own bird food. Your children will have a blast with this do-it-yourself book full of great gardening ideas, and the best part is there is no need for sophisticated equipment or a large yard. Even us urban gardeners can easily assist our kids with these inventive projects. Let's Garden's step-by-step instructions are presented alongside whimsical illustrations and full page photographs, inspiring children to get their hands dirty which my kids love to do! I can't wait to give the Head Pots idea a try. This project guides you through decorating your own pot and planting the soon to be "hair" which after it has grown your kids will be able to even give a trim and style. Those are going to be fun to add to our landscaping this summer.

My Body
is a non fiction for ages 8 and up that was illustrated by Golden Section Graphics with texts by Antje Helms and was translated thanks to Jen Metcalf. We all know that most children are curious about their bodies. They not only want to know how they breathe and where their food goes after they swallow it, but are also generally interested in how their bodies look on the inside and everything that happens there. My Body takes your kids on a fun and compelling journey through the human body. Exploring how we breathe, where our blood flows, how we digest, our senses, skeleton, muscles, nerves, and brain, it imparts fundamental knowledge in a way that is understandable for children. It also provides fascinating information such as the fact that adults can be taller in the morning than they are at night or that giraffes have the same number of neck bones (seven) as humans do. My Body’s vivid illustrations and engaging texts make the book wonderfully suitable for children. It takes them on an entertaining anatomical adventure that further stimulates their own natural curiosity. This has been a great addition to our human body studies this spring.

The picture book, I Will Love You Always, written by Astrid Desbordes and Pauline Martin and translated thanks to Noelia Hobeika, is a sweet read for our little ones ages 3 and up. It is an ode to motherly love that approaches a timeless topic with elegant simplicity and refreshing honesty. With the simple question “Mom, will you love me my whole life?”, Max sparks the most honest answers from his mother. She goes on to tell him about all the moments in life through which she loves him. “I love you when you behave and when your good behavior doesn’t last” and “I love you when you look your best and when you’re feeling your worst” are some of the scenes author Astrid Desbordes and illustrator Pauline Martin succeed in depicting with heartwarming candidness. A refreshing take on a timeless subject, I Love You Always beautifully recounts a mother’s unconditional love for her child. This is the perfect bedtime or anytime story to read to your little one in my opinion. I have enjoyed cuddling with my little guys and reading this to them before bed.

I love relaxing ocean side with a good book while the kiddos play, but that usually only happens on vacation since Indiana isn't exactly known for it's beautiful beaches. =) Since some of you may well have a daily view that includes the beach or even plans to visit one this summer, thought I would join a fun event with hosts The Mommy Island, The Kids Did It, and some other amazing bloggers to give you a chance to win one of the beach themed giveaways listed below in the Life's a Beach Giveaway Hop! Feel free to hop around to all the giveaways below.

I am excited about all of them, but I guess if I had to choose I'd say I'm most excited about the Let's Garden book because my kiddos are getting into gardening with me more and more!

  7. i think the my body book is most exciting to me. my kid asks me so many questions and i have to google the answers. it'd be nice to go through a book together and be less techy with all her questions.

  8. I'm excited about the I'll Always Love You book to give to my daughter. The other two books I will be giving to my brother who is nine years old and likes to read. By the time my daughter is ready for them, he will be too old for them and pass them down. I love our little hand-me-down book circle. My daughter gets my brother's books and her old books go to my niece.
