Safe Sleep For Your Early Walker ~ Halo SleepSack Review & Giveaway

Seems like just yesterday, I buckled our little one in his car seat for the first time to make the trip home from the hospital. He was such a tiny blessing all snuggled up in my arms later that evening as we got him ready for his first night sleeping at home. Now a year later, my little bundle is a mover! You have to watch him like a hawk since he starting walking at eight months. He can run, dance, and just this week started trying to climb. Even though he is an early mover, I still want to keep him safe while sleeping, and the HALO SleepSack Early Walker is the perfect wearable blanket for our little one.

I received this product for reviewing purposes, but was not required to write a positive review.
All opinions are my own. see disclosure.
The HALO SleepSack Early Walker is a safe alternative to those loose blankets in the crib. Like the Wearable Blanket for ages 0-24 months this Early Walker features the sleeveless design, inverted zipper, and breathable fabric. I have found that the inverted zipper keeps diaper changes, even those dreaded middle of the night ones, quick and easy. The sleeveless arms and breathable fabric keep baby cooler even in the warm months, and still warm in the winter by wicking the moisture away so they stay comfy while sleeping.

The Early Walker is the next step up from the Wearable Blanket (see my review for more information on this product) in the HALO SleepSack line to keep your little mover free to move. The one major difference between them is you are able to let baby's feet out for and walking, and then put them in for nap or bedtime. My son loves his freedom, and we knew it was time to move up when he started trying to crawl and walk in his crib while still in the Wearable Blanket.

The Early Walker comes in some super cute designs and colors, and I just the love the new print design Grey Pouch in microfleece that we received. Feel this would make a great gift for a little one turning one since it is such a gender neutral print. HALO also has a variety of other designs in both pinks and blues too. You can also grab the Early Walker in a lightweight knit, if you little one needs a lighter blanket while snoozing.

This microfleece SleepSack is super soft, and very easy to care for. Just machine wash on warm in the gentle cycle, and tumble dry on a low setting. Since that is how I do all of our little guy's laundry I can just throw it in with all of his other clothes. No special care instructions are always nice when this busy Mom has so many other things to worry about, like how do I keep my 12 month old from climbing on everything in sight.
Love his Silly Faces.
The Early Walker comes in three different size choices. Medium fits the little ones ages 6 to 12 months who are between 16-24 pounds. Large, which is the size I chose for our son to have plenty of room to grow, is recommended for those who are 12-18 months and 22-28 pounds. They also carry the X-Large which will work for your toddlers ages 18-24 months, and 26-36 pounds.

Overall I love our HALO SleepSack Early Walker in the new design Grey Pooch, and plan to switch all of our SleepSacks out within the couple next weeks or so. Since my little guy is right at the weight minimum for the Large size, I know we will be able to get quite a bit of use out of this wearable blanket. He sleeps better not being able to kick or roll out of this wearable blanket, and I do too since he is sleeping safer without any loose blankets.

  2. I love the striped animals print in the cotton sleep sack. I've got the fleece one that we've used and loved all winter but I think my 16 month old needs a lighter one for summer!

  19. I have the regular sleep sack unfortunately it's hot so has only been used twice. I would have never thought about having little leg holes

  20. I wish I'd been able to get one of these for my toddler. She's a bit too big now. Maybe this would've helped getting her to sleep in her crib more than a few times withing the last year. I just need maybe once a week a full night of sleep to function better. She can climb out of her crib so we converted it already.

  26. This is a really great idea! I didn't know they made a product like this for older babies/toddlers. At first, before I actually read the review and saw the pictures, I was like there is NO WAY my 17 m old would tolerate being swaddled in any way, but this just looks cozy and soft and wonderful! Thank you for making me aware a product like this exists. :o) The designs are pretty cute too.
