Boba Carrier 4G Review

*I received the product below in order to facilitate this review. I was not required to write a positive review. All opinions are my own. see disclosure.

My six year old always liked being in a sling as a newborn, but after he could hold his head up I stopped using any type of carrier. Think he would have enjoyed continuing. That is why I decided to try baby wearing full blown with our newest little one.

After looking over a few of the different baby wearing options available the Boba Carrier 4G looked like a great fit for us. I received this carrier in Tweet in order to facilitate this review, and I am super impressed.

One of the first things that caught my attention about the Boba Carrier 4G was all of the color and pattern options available. We chose Tweet, but it was so hard to decide since this carrier comes in twelve different colors/patterns.

The Boba Carrier 4G can be used for front carry from 7-30lbs, and for Back Carry from 20-40lbs. Our little guy weighs in at right about 15lbs now, so we have only tried the front carry position. Boba actually has 3 different stages you can use this carrier in.

  • Stage I- Infants (7-15lbs) uses the included integrated Infant Insert
  • Stage II- Older Babies- You may use the Front or Back Carry options
  • Stage III- Toddlers uses the included Ergonomic Foot Straps
With our 5 month old falling within the Stage I category, we have been using the Boba Infant Insert, but on the setting for larger babies since he is pretty long.
Using this baby carrier is super easy, and with a little practice I can now easily put it on and load up my little guy. I had to try it on, and adjust the straps to begin with which took just a few quick minutes. Another plus is that this fits us Moms that are on the shorter side well, but can also work for Dads too. It is made to fit anyone from 5'0 to 6'3. I am 5'2, and it is very comfortable for both me and our baby. After you get the straps where they need to be, you can wrap them in the attached elastic bands that keep the straps neat and out of the way. {Note-For the picture below, I had just started wearing the carrier and hadn't taken the time to wrap them yet.}

This baby carrier has some great extras that really help it to standout. First there is the strap holders on the shoulder area that can be used to hold your keys, babies specials toy or even keep your purse strap from falling off your shoulder.

Another cool extra that I thought was really convenient is that is has not just one or two, but three pockets for storage! I was able to keep my hands free, and still have my cell phone and wallet right within reach with room for more stuff if I needed it too. This is wonderful for our short walks to the neighborhood park.

If your little one falls asleep or even needs to nurse this Carrier has a removable sleeping hood. If you want to keep it handy there is a pocket to store it in by zipping it up out of the way.

If you are in the market for a well made carrier with everything included that you need from the small newborn stage through toddler age, I highly recommend the Boba Carrier 4G as a wonderful option. I have enjoyed keeping our son close while still being able to fold laundry with two hands, run the vacuum, taking him with us on walks and to the park.

  1. I wish I would have had one of these when my kids were babies. It would have been easier to get things done. I like how it has extra pockets.

  2. I love slings. My toddler is 3 and still uses slings. He is about 25 lbs. I love how it is front and back carry

  4. I love the weight range that these carriers can take on so I don't have to look for different baby carriers for when my little one grows. Thanks for the review!
