Buttons Cloth Diapers Accessories ~ Review

*I received these products free for reviewing purposes. I was not required to write a positive review. All opinions are my own. see disclosure.

After I began cloth diapering our third baby a few months ago, I didn't see the need for cloth wipes {my exact thoughts were, "um gross!"}, and honestly I had no idea what a wet bag even was. Let's just say I have learned so much about both of these products over the last couple months, and now feel extremely foolish for not realizing how much I NEEDED them. After being annoyed with wipes that needed to be thrown away at every diaper change, and getting my hands icky carrying them separately to the garbage, Enough was enough! Then Buttons Cloth Diapers came to my rescue. They sent me 2 packages of their Flannel Cloth Wipes, and a large Wet/Dry Bag in order to facilitate this product review.

Buttons Flannel Cloth Wipes come with 15 to a package! They are 100% cotton, and measure 7.5" by 7.5". This size has work great for us, and I keep them moistened and ready to go right on our changing area. After using them for a few weeks, I noticed that even with drying multiple times, they have had minimal shrinkage. The best part is that they are very budget friendly. Only $7 a package! That won me over right there! I have spent more than that on one bulk refill pack of disposables, and they are gone never to be used again with in a couple weeks. What a waste!

The Large Wet/Dry Bag from Buttons Diapers comes in two different color patterns- Apple and Pebble (pictured). It has been ideal to keep in my diaper bag for longer trips especially since it can hold up to 6 cloth diapers. Since this larger compartment is made using PUL it is waterproof, so you can throw wet/dirty diapers in there with no worries. I have also found that it works great for swimsuits! The dry side is a great spot to keep an extra diaper, or what I usually use it for, holding an emergency change of clothes.

I recently used the Buttons Large Wet Bag for a long day trip to visit family for my Grandmother's 85th birthday celebration. We traveled and were gone for the entire day. Not only did it end up holding 6 very full cloth diapers and wipes before the day was over, but it also kept the embarrassing stink at bay too. My family was quite impressed with the cuteness factor of the Large Wet/Dry Bag, and the attached hanging loop came in really handy.

Knowing what I know now, and after researching lots of different options, these flannel cloth wipes, and the Large Wet/Dry Bag are a must have for anyone thinking about cloth diapering in my opinion. I can't imagine leaving home without the Large Wet/Dry Bag tucked securely in my diaper bag, and thank goodness I have these cloth wipes! They save us so much money, and are so convenient!

  1. I have a small Buttons wet bag, I love it. I use it for my cloth wipes. I don't have any Button's cloth wipes but I'm sure I'd love them, I have 4 of their covers and lots of their inserts and love them!

  7. I was wondering what you moisten the cloth wipes with and what you store them in. My little guy is due any time now and I haven't decided whether or not I should use cloth wipes or disposable. Thanks for the review!

    1. Brittany, Right now I am just using the plastic wipe case I already had from disposables, but I plan to purchase some other type of case that isn't made with plastic soon. I make up enough to last until my next wash day which is every other day right now, so it does about 20 or so wipes. That leaves me around 10 to carry us over if need be while waiting on the laundry. For solution.....I searched cloth diaper safe homemade wipe solutions online. The one I use now is 1/4 teaspoon organic extra virgin olive oil, 1 cup water, and 1/2 teaspoon Earth Mama Angel Baby - Baby Wash (which uses pure castile soap and organic oils). This is usually enough to moisten all the wipes, but sometimes they dry out before I use them. I will just use water to remoisten. Seems to be working well for us so far. =)

  11. So I would love to know your 'recipe' for the wipe solution! Thanks for the thoughts on the wetbag! There are so many out there and since I will be new to cloth diapers when baby comes, I was really unsure about which to get. Gonna head over and put these on my list!

    1. This is the solution I am currently using, but keep in mind it's the only recipe I have ever tried. I am sure there are plenty more out there if you need a different one to fit your baby specific needs. =) I searched cloth diaper safe homemade wipe solutions online. This was the one I like the best and then altered slightly with the organic baby wash I already had on hand. 1/4 teaspoon organic extra virgin olive oil, 1 cup water, and 1/2 teaspoon Earth Mama Angel Baby - Baby Wash (which uses pure castile soap and organic oils). You do have to shake this up and pour a few times just to keep the oil from coming to the top.

  14. I love that they have wet/dry bags. They work great as quick diaper bags since you can put the clean diapers and wipes in the dry pocket.

  17. I've haven't tried their wipes or wet bags, but if the quality is anything like their diapers, then I think I'm missing out! NOT ONE LEAK, they fit amazingly, and the inserts are SUPER absorbent. If I had to start CDing all over again, I'm all about Buttons!
