After I found out we were expecting last year, I made the decision to give cloth diapering a try. Began to research online and follow a few different cloth diapering bloggers. What I discovered is that modern cloth diapering IS NOT what I expected. Modern cloth diapering can be diaper pin free, and there are a variety of styles of diapers not to mention colors and patterns that are so adorable. Now I am cloth diapering our son, and we haven't looked back! While doing my research I came across Buttons Cloth Diapers.
Even the packaging they delivered it in is super cute! |
The Buttons Cloth Diaper Covers have a few key features that help with fit and containing the leaks, which I think set them apart along with that precious little red button on the back of every cover.
This first feature is one of my favorites, they have a double gusset. This helps with fit around those adorable little legs. So far the double gussets have contained my sons messes, and he is exclusively breastfed, which {as most of you Moms & Dads know} equals very runny messes.
They have elastic at both the front and back of the diaper. This gives a great fit around that little belly area.
Last of all is the high quality snaps to give your baby the perfect fit for them in both the rise and in the waist line. These snaps allow the cover to fit babies from approximately 9 to 35lbs. They also have snaps inside to attach the inserts.
My son is right at 10 lbs in this picture. |
Now to the nitty-gritty job of washing. It's actually pretty simple! Just remove the solids.... if you have to. For exclusively breastfed babies it isn't necessary, so I am able to skip to step two for the time being which is make sure all the inserts are unsnapped from the covers. Then toss in your washer, and put it through a rinse cycle on cold. Next begin a full wash cycle on hot with detergent that doesn't contain additives and no bleaching either, by the way. Then just throw them in the dryer or line dry, your choice. *Note- I personally do an additional rinse/spin cycle before drying to make sure there isn't any detergent left behind.
After using the Buttons Cloth Diaper's two in one diapering system over the last few weeks, I can say that for absorbency they are a power house. When it comes to fit they have the features necessary to keep the messes contained and your little one comfortable. Keeping the covers and inserts clean is a lot easier than I expected, and as far as price is concerned they are most definitely budget friendly. Covers are priced between $11- $12.50, and the inserts start at only $3.50!!! Finally when it comes to the cuteness factor.... well let's just say they are truly cute as a Button!!!

ReplyDeleteI love the print, hero, on the diaper shown. All the other features seem great (especially the double gusset on the leg), but since I have enough diapers now it is really the print that wins me over to trying a new diaper. :)
ReplyDeleteI have a friend that despises double gussets - but I can't see why they would be so bad! I'm loving them! Though I haven't actually used any since Baby Girl won't be here until October. ;)

ReplyDeleteThis is a great review, I like how you pointed out all the unique features in one picture, like the insert snaps and elastic in the front and back. I have 2 button's diaper covers, and while a lot of people compare them to Best Bottoms, I think Button's are sturdier and and I like that the PUL has some stretch.
