Glass Straws Review

As you guys know, I love finding a reusable alternative to everyday consumable products, like paper towels and sandwich baggies. One thing I was still buying and throwing away was plastic straws. Well not anymore!!!!

Since my kiddos have a crazy addiction to only wanting to drink from a straw, I thought why not try to find a reusable alternative.... and Glass Straws is it! I was given the opportunity to check out Glass Straws, which are proudly made in the USA, and we have all liked the switch. I received 4 different drinking straws for this review.

Not only are Glass Straws made in the USA, but they also are made with Borosilicate Glass which is more durable than average glass. If the drinking straws would for some reason break, they all come with a lifetime warranty! Since I have a 5 year old son, who seems to break the unbreakable on a daily basis, this warranty gave me peace of mind. Nice!

Glass Straws offers a variety of sizes to fit all occasions and beverages.
  •  Clear 9.5mm,12mm diameter Straight or Bent
  •  Color reinforced tips 9.5mm & 12mm diameter Straight or Bent
  • Dotted Straws 9.5 & 12mm diameter Straight or Bent
According to their website, Glass Straws recommends the 9mm standard diameter for your thinner everyday liquids, like coffee or water. If you would like to have their drinking straws for a thicker beverage like a smoothie, they advise you to order the 12mm Large. Now is a great time to throw in they are approved for cold or hot liquids, so we can use them with our hot coffee or a root beer float, which is how my daughter has loved to use hers.

You are able to choose from all different lengths to fit your beverage needs. They carry the smaller 4" and 6" straws for kids, and 8"-12" long straws for other size glasses.

Keeping your Glass Straws clean is super easy.... all you have to do is put them in the dishwasher! I have used the dishwasher each time and they have come out shiny and clean, no left over residue. You can order a special cleaning tool from the website, if you do not have a dishwasher and would like to make sure they are clean and sanitary.

My overall opinion, Glass Straws offer the best alternative to plastic straws. They are reusable, sturdy, come in a variety of designs, and colors for everyone's different styles and drinking straw needs. My family really enjoys using them, and I love that we have replaced plastic throwaways with a reusable product. =)

  4. I would love to try glass straws! I don't use straws only because I avoid buying disposable products when I can, like we don't use any paper plates either, and I'm working on switching back to not using paper towels. We use reusable sandwich bags too. Glass straws look like a great thing to have! Especially when my son starts drinking out of a regular glass - right now he still uses a sippy cup.

  13. I love the idea of glass straws and I've never heard of them before. Once I get these then I'll have to switch out for my paper towels too because spending money on those every two weeks is such a waste if I can reuse a paper towel.

We use straws all the time and with many drinks. These are great. I would really like to have a set of glass straws. This would definitely help us reduce our waste.
