Cockatoo, Too by Bethanie Deeney Murguia is a fun picture book featuring two adorable cockatoos and some of their feathered friends. This story geared towards ages 3-6 is full of puns and word play. Cockatoo, Too has eye catching illustrations that are vibrantly colored, and beautifully showcase the silliness of the story. This story begins with one cockatoo who is quickly joined by another. Then they dress up and dance with other friends. I have enjoyed reading this funny little tongue twister to my boys. With phrases like "Two cockatoo tutus, too?" I was laughing. Your little ones are sure to enjoy the silliness of this picture book too.

I like the one on one special time that we share when reading to my son and him reading to me.
ReplyDeleteI love reading with my babies and listening to their interpretations of the book! An adult's mind and kids mind works so differently!
ReplyDeleteMy favorite part of reading with my kids is how animated we all get. We do different voices and become very expressive.
ReplyDeleteI enjoy reading with my son in funny voices! We have a lot of fun and end up making new stories up based on the pictures!
ReplyDeleteI try to read to my great niece and great nephew. They like to hear stories about the Princesses and about dogs :) My great niece told me that I didn't sound like a princess when I was reading to her though, loi
ReplyDeleteI love to read with the little ones, we also love our two feathered friends - we have cockatiels!
ReplyDeleteI love the cuddle time!! I don't get it much anymore and its so great!!
ReplyDeleteI love reading to my daughter, it's our special time together before bed :)
ReplyDeleteI love reading with my daughter. She's only 16 months old but she wants to "read read" all day long if she can. I love to snuggle and read her favorite stories.

I love reading to my kids to settle them down before bed
ReplyDeleteI love how my daughter likes to interact with me at storytime. She points to a picture if she wants to know what something is and points to other objects In the room if she knows it is there also. She will point at cats in books and then at our cat.
ReplyDeleteI love how intently our little one listens to the story and absorbs the pictures.
ReplyDeleteWe definitely have favorite birds. Hummingbirds. My mom has two feeders on her deck and every morning and evening they are SWARMING with hummingbirds. Seriously close to 20 per feeder, they are hard to count. It is such a trip to watch them though. better than Game of Thrones! :-)
It is so fantastic to see her zeal for life!
My grandson loves parrots!

I love that all my children love story time together.
ReplyDeleteI love spending time reading to the grandkids. It gives us some good one on one time.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite parenting tip is to always read the authors name as well as the illustrator. This conditioning really works! My daughters could recognize illustrators when they were very young and when they were older all 4 were chosen to be in competitions about books and authors.
