Wild Kratts Wild Animal Babies DVD #entertainment

This past school year, I attempted to do a unit study on mammals. Since our son is such an animal lover, I thought it would be fun and educational to really jump in to learn more about a few animals. After the first day, I quickly realized that I was going to have to change up my lesson plans. Not only did he already know every little detail I had researched and prepared activities on for these animals; he also started telling me more about their specific habitat, special characteristics and other cool facts.

Cinderella and Other Fairytale Adventures DVD

*I received the product below for reviewing purposes. All opinions are my own. see disclosure.

Around our home we like to keep entertainment educational when possible. I just love when we discover a show that is fun, entertaining, and educational. This year for my 2015 Back To School Guide, I was able to check out the new release from PBS KIDS that is all those things I look for in a program wrapped into one!

The Cinderella and Other Fairytale Adventures DVD features five Super Why episodes, and is an adorable program that challenges your kids to think and have fun while reading.

The main character Whyatt takes your children on reading adventures to solve small challenges that his friends from Storybrook village are puzzled by. When answers are needed they "Look In a Book!" Each of these lovable characters join Whyatt at the book club and transform into Super Readers with special abilities to help solve the issue they are facing. His partners are Red RidingHood aka Wonder Red who has Word Power. Pig aka Alpha Pig brings Alphabet Power with him, and Princess Pea aka Princess Presto uses Spelling Power. Then of course there is Whyatt and he is Super Why with the Power to Read. They also help your children stay engaged and actively participating by turning to them to use their special power- the Power to Help during the story.

Mia and Me- Friends to the Rescue DVD ~ Review

Finding animated shows that my tween will enjoy without believing they are "too kiddie", in her words, has become a challenge. She is at that in between stage kids go through, and I am so happy we recently found a show that she can enjoy viewing that keeps the issues simple and age appropriate- Mia and Me- Friends to the Rescue DVD.

Mia and Me is a unique program that includes both live action and animation. The main character Mia is a 12 year old girl. She is attending boarding school in Florence, Italy. Mia is trying to fit in with her classmates, but has a secret life one where she is able to transport through a high tech portal to animated land of Centopia. She used to read about this place in an ancient book of myths, and finds herself in an exciting land of elves, unicorns, dragons and more. As she is bouncing back and forth from her boarding school life and secret elf life, Mia discovers she is the key to saving Centopia from the evil Queen Panthea.

Wild Kratts Super Sprinters ~ PBS KIDS Review

*I received the product below for reviewing purposes, but was not required to write a positive review. All opinions and content are my own. see disclosure.

Since both of my older two kids were little they have been fascinated with all things animals. We read books, watch movies and documentaries too. One of the shows my son loves to watch when he can is Wild Kratts on PBS KIDS

Wild Kratts is a cartoon, with real life segments at the beginning and end, that teaches about animals in a fun way. Chris and Martin Kratt team up with a few friends to study animals of all kinds in their habitat, and find out all about their unique features to see what makes them awesome. They use fun gadgets and travel around the globe on their adventures to learn more. Together with their team the Kratts take what they have learned and create their Creature Power Suits which allow the Kratts to, in a way, become that specific creature, and experience what it's like to be them which sometimes can be quite silly.
