Wild Kratts Wild Animal Babies DVD #entertainment

This past school year, I attempted to do a unit study on mammals. Since our son is such an animal lover, I thought it would be fun and educational to really jump in to learn more about a few animals. After the first day, I quickly realized that I was going to have to change up my lesson plans. Not only did he already know every little detail I had researched and prepared activities on for these animals; he also started telling me more about their specific habitat, special characteristics and other cool facts.

Snow Day Entertainment For The Kids From NCircle Entertainment

If there is one thing I look forward to during the cold days of winter, it would have to be coming in from a fun time playing outside in the snow with the kids and warming up by cuddling under a cozy blanket to enjoy a family friendly movie together.

Captive In Theaters on September 18th #FollowYourPurpose

*I received product in order to facilitate this post. All opinions are my own. sponsored post.

She was a struggling addict trying to get her life together for her daughter, and he was a desperate man on the run after committing murder. Their lives collide, and suddenly they were looking for what gives their life a purpose. Captiveformerly published as Unlikely Angel by Ashley Smith, is a book giving us the untold story of the 2005 Atlanta hostage hero from her point of view, and Captive, a motion picture based on this book, will be in theaters on September 18th!

Honestly, I only have vague memories of this hostage event from 2005, so I dove into the book, Captive with an open mind. I was not able to put it down, and read nearly the entire book in one night. Her life before this experience was tragic and really sad to say the least. She spirals down a dark and selfish path caught up in addiction after the death of her young husband. Then she seems to wake up with a need to survive at all costs for her daughter during this hostage experience. While reading The Purpose Driven Life by Rick Warren both her and her captor really begin trying to look for their life's purpose. Now that I have finished reading Captive, I am so excited that they are releasing the movie based on this story soon, and cannot wait to see Captive in theaters this September. (Can we say date night?!)

Wild Kratts Super Sprinters ~ PBS KIDS Review

*I received the product below for reviewing purposes, but was not required to write a positive review. All opinions and content are my own. see disclosure.

Since both of my older two kids were little they have been fascinated with all things animals. We read books, watch movies and documentaries too. One of the shows my son loves to watch when he can is Wild Kratts on PBS KIDS

Wild Kratts is a cartoon, with real life segments at the beginning and end, that teaches about animals in a fun way. Chris and Martin Kratt team up with a few friends to study animals of all kinds in their habitat, and find out all about their unique features to see what makes them awesome. They use fun gadgets and travel around the globe on their adventures to learn more. Together with their team the Kratts take what they have learned and create their Creature Power Suits which allow the Kratts to, in a way, become that specific creature, and experience what it's like to be them which sometimes can be quite silly.

We are always searching for a family friendly movie that we can enjoy together on our movie night. It's hard to find a movie these days that my kids, husband and I will all enjoy. This week we were all entertained by the new release from Pure Flix, Pirate's Code: The Adventures of Mickey Matson the follow up to Mickey Matson and the Copperhead Treasure!

This movie begins with the prison break of two shady characters by a not so friendly looking modern day gang of pirates and their obviously evil leader, Admiral Ironsides (Frank Collison). Next the movie quickly dives into introducing other key players, and the previous accomplishments of Mickey Matson (Derek Brandon) with the Secret Order of Patriots (SOP) as he is recording a video journal of sorts while mentioning he is tired of being bored. There is no worries on the fact that he feels bored either since that situation quickly changes! Mickey Matson's life takes an exciting turn for him again, when he is taken to the Secret Order of Patriots headquarters and training grounds along with his best friend Sully (Francesca Derosa). Once there he finds someone he has missed dearly (Christopher Lloyd)!
