I have been dying to try out a program to help me organize my recipes. With the shear number of recipes I have bookmarked on my laptop.... I will never be able to remember what they are exactly. Not to mention all my cookbooks, magazine clippings, and recipe card files that are taking up space in my kitchen and dining room.I have been known to buy a whole cookbook for just one recipe I saw flipping through it.... keep in mind it was probably at a yard sale, but still who has space for all of these cookbooks even if I did get the whole book for cheap?!!! I sure do not.... that is why the Cook'n Recipe Organizer has been such a blessing to my space.
To begin....I despise waiting... not the most patient person, and the Cook'n download only took few minutes. By the time I finished watching the get you started video.... it was ready to go! That started me off with a very positive feeling towards this software. {As you may remember from other reviews and posts, I am not very computer savvy.}
The first thing I did was to start searching through the recipes it comes with.... over 500 already loaded and easily searched! Each of the recipes tells you exactly which cook book it came from which I really loved!
Now not only can you simply add your own recipes and create a cookbook in minutes, but you can search for recipes online and then "Capture" them using the ...{you guessed it} Capture button. So EASY!!! No more bookmarking a yummy recipe that I find on another blog or website! I can just capture it with Cook'n and it's saved in my recipes. Thank goodness I can finally clean up my bookmarked pages.... which was out of control.
Another feature Cook'n has that is super cool is that you can create your own cookbook. Then the program will create a pdf file for you. That means you can take it to a local printers, and have it printed up. For my wedding shower, all the women brought me a recipe or two from their family. I started off with quite a few tasty family recipes to share with my hubby.... I can now take all these recipes and organize them together. Yeah!!!
Other great features include-
- menu planning
- shopping lists
- searching a recipe
- changing the theme of your pages
- finding nutrional information (such a calories per serving) on your recipes
This video is a really great way to find out what all this Cook'n software can do...
Over all my feelings on Cook'n Recipe Organizer software is a very loud.... Wooo HOOOO!!! Yes, I love it! Now hopefully my family is going to enjoy all these new recipes that I can finally keep organized. =)
