After trying these three different types of chips in four different flavors, my whole family decided that we couldn't choose a favorite. We equally love the Quinoa and Hummus chips. The Quinoa has a very light, crispy texture, and are high in protein. They are, of course, gluten free, but also Non GMO Project verified and Vegetarian too. The four flavors we devoured were Sea Salt, Sour Cream and Onion, Barbeque {voted 2014 Men's Health Best Chip for Men}, and Cheddar. All of these flavors are Kosher and the Sea Salt and Barbeque are also Vegan. Personally my favorite was the Cheddar, but I also really like the subtle but tasty Sea Salt flavor. My husband and daughter claimed the Barbeque Chips were the very best flavor. My son just said he loved them all, but took over the Sour Cream and Onion as his own.
The Hummus Chips from Simply7 are a bit thicker and crunchier in texture than the Quinoa. They are also shaped more like a shell, and that is actually what our seven year old son calls them- his shell chips. He loves, loves, loves these. The Hummus Chips four flavors are Sea Salt, Roasted Red Pepper, Tomato Basil, and Spicy Chili Pepper. The Hummus Chips have 50% less fat than your average potato chip, are gluten free, Non GMO Project verified, and also Vegetarian. They are made with chick pea flour, and to be honest, I was happily surprised that my daughter and son would eat them. Oh and eat them they sure did. We enjoyed the flavors, but I will say that the Spicy Chili Pepper had a bit too much of a kick for my kids. My husband and I have crunched away on this bag by ourselves.
The Lentil chips have more of a puffy texture, and less of the crispy crunch that we really enjoyed in the Hummus or Quinoa. Their flavors include Sea Salt, Creamy Dill, Jalapeno(quite the kick to this one), and Bruschetta. This gourmet lentil snack has up to 50% less fat than potato chips, and is gluten free and Non GMO Project verified as well. The Sea Salt, Jalapeno, and Bruschetta are also Vegan. This was not our favorite since it had more of a puffy texture that didn't crunch like we prefer in our snack chips, and personally I was not big fan.
I have to say after trying 3 varieties of the Simply7 chips, that they have done a wonderful job of keeping with their 7 core standards. I have actually searched out a local store to find these chips which will now be a staple in our home. If you would like to find a store to purchase Simply7 Snack Chips you can find a store locator on the website. We are making our grocery list up tonight, and my son wanted to make sure his "shell chips" were on it, and not to forget he needed more Sour Cream and Onion Crispy chips. Interpreted that means "Grab me my Tomato Basil Hummus Chips and the Sour Cream and Onion Quinoa Chips from Simply7, Mom". Think we have found our healthier chips to keep on hand!

ReplyDeleteYum! I really want to try the quinoa ones! We love healthy chips around here. My husband really likes hummus, so maybe we will have to try those as well.
